Dear Members,
As you will have read in my previous email, we are delighted to be welcoming on board Malcolm Murray as our new General Manager.
It is with sadness that we also have employees from each department leaving us for new roles elsewhere.
From the clubhouse Jaide and Lisa have moved on. Lisa has taken up a position in Edinburgh, working in a Children’s Nursery.
Jaide, who has been at the club for 14 years having started with Gary Stevenson in the kitchen. Jaide then moved more into the bar side of the business with Richard, but with all the comings and goings from the catering department, Jaide switched departments as to the club’s needs. Jaide has now taken up a role within the clubhouse at Royal Dornoch Golf Club
I would also like to thank Derek for stepping in, and helping us through the last season, cheffing and running the kitchen.
From the Greenkeepers we are saying goodbye to Callum. Callum took up greenkeeping and became an apprentice at Tain. He went onto qualify as a greenkeeper and served the club well. Callum is now taking up a greenkeepers position at Royal Dornoch Golf Club.
Finally, in our departures is Richard our Clubhouse Manager. Richard has been with us for 12 years, arriving from Alness Golf Club, he took over the Clubhouse Managers role. After Magi left her secretary’s position, he was asked to help in the office. Richard has helped all over the club, running the bar, filling in for caterers, doing Health and Safety and numerous other tasks within the club. I for one will be sad to see him leave.
As people leave then new must come in and we are delighted to announce that after all candidates that applied for the Bar & Catering Franchise, Craig Nimmons has been appointed as the franchisee for the Bar & catering within the club.
Craig will be starting on Easter Weekend (April 3rd). A full menu will be available, and Craig will also be doing evening meals and an Easter Sunday Lunch which should be booked. A menu will be advertised shortly by email, posters and Facebook. We wish Craig well on his new adventure.
We are delighted also to welcome Rubin Aitchison as our new Deputy Head Greenkeeper. Rubin comes to us from the Carnegie Club and joins our team on 1st April.
